双层玻璃反应釜配有搅拌系统、冷凝、添加、回流和收集系统。内层装有用于搅拌反应的反应溶剂，而夹套则循环加热或冷却源，以便进行高温反应（最高温度可达 300°C）或低温反应（最低温度可降至 -80°C）。在加热反应期间，真空条件可提高蒸发效率（需要连接真空系统）。溶剂蒸汽通过玻璃冷却盘管时会冷凝成液体（需要连接冷却系统），可回流到反应器中或通过回流弯头的下部阀门回收。反应完成后，物料从底部出口排出。全透明的反应过程清晰可见，是现代生物制药、精细化工和新材料合成的理想中试设备。.
